Ranchi: The Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee has attacked the state government over the erratic power supply situation across the state including capital Ranchi and has accused the Chief Minister of misleading the people over the demand of 24x7 power supply in the state.
Party spokespersons Alok Kumar Dubey and Rajesh Gupta jointly said that in the year 2017 itself the Chief Minister had said that he would not ask for a vote if he is not able to provide power for 24 hours in the state. The duo pointed to the government advertisement in which on December 31, 2018 it was stated that power would be provided to all this year and the same promise was made by him in Madhupur Mahotsav on January 16. The leaders said that for the last seven days the power scenario in the state including the capital has become pathetic and alleged that due to lack of electricity even patients are dying in RIMS and the Chief Minister is not able to control the departments whose portfolio he himself holds.
They said that TVNL was just supplying four megawatts of power. They said that BJP has been in power for the majority of these 18 years in the state but has failed to solve the power crisis in the state and accused the department and its officials of hiding their failures in the name of power cuts.
