Ranchi: The Jharkhand BJP termed the decision of the Union Government to provide 10 per cent quota in the general category to the
economically backward sections as a historic one and said that it was not important in which year it has been implemented what was more significant in that without any reduction the quota has been provided.
Addressing a press conference at the state BJP headquarters here Urban Development Minister CP Singh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi showed the courage to take the decision as in the 70 years of Independence nobody has worried about the economically backward sections who would now be able to be part of the development and will also help to increase the social equality in the country.
He said that people across the country were happy with this decision as amendment bill has been tabled in the parliament which is being supported by the majority parties while some are opposing it in whispers. When asked the meeting between the MLAs and national general secretary of the party Saudan Singh and newly appointed incharge for Lok Sabha polls the ministers said that strategy has been worked out to win all the 14 Lok Sabha seats and what actually happened inside is not be told to the media.
