Palamau: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today said that it is only Prime Minister Narendra Modi who thought about the development of Palamu and Garhwa districts and it is due to his efforts that finally, Mandal Dam project will see the light of the day and doors of prosperity of the farmers of the area would be opened.
Addressing a press conference at the Circuit House here he said this dam would provide irrigation facility on 19604 hectares of land. He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi will lay the foundation stone for North Koyel (Mandal Dam) project, Kanhar Soan pipeline irrigation project and lay a foundation for other canal projects. He said that the scheme would be a milestone for development Palamu and addressing its water and irrigation needs.
He said that the Prime Minister was committed for the development of the farmers villages women and youth. He said that the state government was proud of the farmers as it was due to them in four years the agriculture growth rate has turned to 14 per cent positive. Mr Das sais that to make the farmers progress and train them as per the needs of the time in 2018 a group of 50 farmers were sent to Israel who have returned full of confidence and the state government was also with their confidence and it is on their self belief and schemes of the state government that a target has been set to increase the income of farmers four times.
The Chief Minister said that empowerment of women is a priority for the state government and through Sakhi Mandal and other schemes they are being empowered. He said that the women of the state would be sent to Israel ro learn modern techniques of agriculture and in the next phase a group of 50 women and men would be sent to Israel.
He said that in the first phase of e-naam mobile distribution among farmers 21000 farmers would be provided smart phones. He asked the other farmers also to register their names on e-naam portal. Mr Das said that the government is of the view to distribute 28 lakh smart phones so that they can get all the agriculture related information on time.
The Chief Minister said that the Prime Minister would lay foundation stones for six key projects ushering the doors of prosperity for Garhwa and Palamu.
