Winter continues to create havoc in state, cold waves expected to continue further

Ranchi: The entire state including capital Ranchi is reeling under extreme cold waves due to which people were found shivering with
cold and once again Kanke recorded a temperature of zero degree for the second consecutive day. McCluiskiganj once again shivered at zero degree Celsius while on Sunday it had recorded temperature of minus 1 degree Celsius while on Saturday it was minus
1.5 degree Celsius while Kanke on both Saturday and Sunday was at one degree Celsius.

Meanwhile while in Jhariwa village of Chainpur Police Station area of the Palamu district a 46 year old man identified as Gorakhnath Sharma. The worst impact of the cold waves has been witnessed in the North-West and North-East regions of the state including Palamu Garhwa Chatra Koderma Lathear Lohardaga Deoghar Dumka Dhanbad Giridih Godda Jamtara Pakur and Sahibganj and in Ranchi the minimum temperature has declined by 0.2 per cent.

In the last 24 hours the maximum temperature of Ranchi was 21.4 degree Celsius while the minimum was at 6.1, on the other hand the minimum temperature at Daltonganj was 4.7 degree Celsius. The local met department has predicted that for the next four days the minimum temperature in the state is expected to be between 5-7 degree Celsius as cold waves from North India are flowing towards the state and since the sky is clear the people are further feelings its impact.

On the other hand snowfall in Gangtok has further increased the cold in the state. Scientist at the Ranchi Met Department RS Sharma said that since the Himalayan region is witnessing snowfall, therefore, the cold waves are coming in the state due to which the state is in the grip of extreme winter.
