Ranchi (By our correspondent): Jharkhand Pradesh Congress Committee Chief Dr Ajay Kumar accused former MLA Enos Ekka of running election office from jail and alleged that the state government despite being aware of his actions was sitting idle over the issue. Addressing a press conference at the JPCC headquarters here Dr Ajay Kumar said that from jail Mr Ekka was threatening the people to vote for his wife and Jharkhand party candidate Menan Ekka in the polls.
He demanded to reduce the influence of the jailed former minister he should be shifted outside to a prison in a state like Karnataka as he was using all possible means to win the polls. Dr Ajay said that over this issue a delegation of the Congress would meet the chief electoral officer and even if things fail to get answered the party would approach the National Election Commission in New Delhi. He said that position of Congress candidate Vixcel Kongadi was strong in Kolibera and he was assured of victory.
He alleged that Jharkhand party was the B team of BJP and alleged that the Chief Minister has given a candidate which is of choice of Mr Ekka. Dr Kumar said that fearing defeat the BJP has already surrendered and extended its support to the Jharkhand party. The state Congress chief went on to add that it is suspected that anti-social elements will also be used in the polls to prevent people from reaching the booths.
