Ranchi (By our correspondent): Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that society should work to bring the poor on equal terms and asked the members of the community to work for the upliftment of the poor which would help to remove the social evils prevailing in the society. Addressing a meeting of the Jharkhand Pradesh Kesrvani Vaishya Mahasabha here he said that the society should also work together so that the poor can avail the benefits of the government-sponsored schemes. He asked the members of the community
to make a list of the poor and link them with government schemes.
Mr. Das said that the youth of the community would be linked with jobs through skill development and this will help to bring improvement in their living standard. He said that dowry was an evil prevailing in the society against which all needed to come together and asked the people to take a pledge that they will not take dowry. He said that no cost the girls would be sold as she is ‘Laxmi’ and suggested that those who indulge in dowry should be socially boycotted.
The Chief Minister said that there are many backward districts in the state which are not able to avail the benefits of the facilities provided by the constitution. He said that his government was committed to providing the rights to the poor and the demands of the community would be sent to the OBC commission and whatever are the recommendations of the commission will be implemented in the state. He called upon the members of the society to educate their children and asked them not to make any differences between
boys and girls in the area of education.
He said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi has given the slogan of Sabka Saath Sabka Vikas and the same has been adopted as the mantra by the Jharkhand Government and said that it was the only state where the property in name of is being registered at just Rs 1.
