CM Das inaugurates Atal Smriti Vendors Market

Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that giving urbanization to all cities of the state is the priority of the government. The state government is considering it as an opportunity instead of a challenge. 25 Vendors Market is being constructed in the entire state. Vendor market will be built at five places including Harmu, Ratu Road, Morahabadi, HEC. The state government will provide market to all identified 36,831 vendors by 2022 so that they can live life with dignity. The Chief Minister was addressing after the inauguration ceremony of the newly constructed Atal Smriti Vendors Market at Kutchery Road.

The Chief Minister said that Jharkhand is now creating a new history in every area's development. It is the result of the state government's commitment that before the scheduled time, the country's first major Atal Smriti Vendors Market has been inaugurated in Ranchi. The foundation stone of this newly built Vendors Market was laid on 31 July 2016. This market has been constructed by the urban development department and it is a moment of pride for all of us that biggest vendor's market is in Ranchi. 

The Chief Minister said that Urban Market will soon be built in Ranchi. It is the responsibility of vendors, Municipal Corporation and the public to keep the market and the city clean. The Ranchi city should come in the top 10 clean cities of the country and for that municipal officer, mayor, deputy mayor, councillor and the general public should work with coordination as a team.   

The Chief Minister said that to bring change in the life of the poor has been the priority of the state government. Seeing the happiness of the vendors who have been allocated shops in this market, I feel positive. Bringing a smile to the lives of the poor is the goal of my life. The poor vendors who have no home to live, the state government will provide them houses under the Prime Minister's Housing Scheme. The Chief Minister appealed to the vendors that maintenance of this market is your responsibility. Do not let the garbage spread around your shops and use dustbins. It is easy to build any infrastructure but it is a difficult task to do maintenance. 

The Chief Minister said that Antodaya is the basic mantra of the government. The Chief Minister appealed to the people that they must follow the law. Be sure to use helmets while driving two-wheelers. Keep speed control while driving. Do not run the vehicle at high speed. Do not lose your senses in youthful zeal. Always be safe on the road.

On this occasion, Chief Minister Raghubar Das also unveiled the statue of Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, established in the vendors market. The Chief Minister also honored Hemant Agarwal, the owner of the construction company for the construction of the vendors market before the scheduled time. The Chief Minister also distributed certificate among the vendors allotted shop in the vendor's market.

On this occasion, Secretary, Department of Urban Development and Housing, Ajay Kumar Singh said that the state's first Vendor Market has been completed in Ranchi with a total cost of Rs. 54 crores. In this vendor market, parking for 195 vehicles, 254 kiosks on the ground, 218 kiosks on the first floor, 108 shops on the second floor, 23 offices on the third floor and 9475 sq. ft. banquet hall on the fourth floor has been constructed. He told that this vendor market is the state's modern vendor market. The Urban Development Secretary said that soon the work of renovation of the Jaipal Singh Stadium of Ranchi will be started. Construction of a night market in Ranchi has also been ensured.

Ranchi MP Ram Tahal Chaudhary, Mayor  Asha Lakra, Deputy Mayor Sanjeev Vijayvargiya addressed the people on the occasion.

Municipal Commissioner Ranchi Manoj Kumar, Additional Secretary Urban Development Department BPL Das, Ward commissioner  Asha Devi and others were present.
