Dharna before Raj Bhawan against NPR, Kannan Gopinathan and Aamir Aziz participate

Ranchi: Under the banner of Jharkhand Janadhikar Mahasabha a dharna was staged before the Raj Bhawan here against NPR which was also addressed by former IAS officer Kannan Gopinathan and poet Aamir Aziz.

Speaking on the occasion the duo said the government has completed preparations to start the survey of National Population Register from April 1, 2020. They said that the main goal of NPR was to make preparations for the NRC.

The members of different organisation who addressed the gathering said with NRC the life of the poor especially the tribals, dalits and minorities including women will become miserable.

They alleged that with the help of CAA and NRC the minorities will be turned into second-grade citizen and claimed that the findings of NPR can be used as a tool to deny the citizenship.

The Speakers claimed that the Jharkhand government has not taken any action over NPR, NRC and CAA, therefore, people in the state are also not safe. People in large numbers from different parts of the state had gathered to participate in the event.
