Illegal mining claims 3 lives in Dhanbad

Dhanbad (By our correspondent): Three people including a female lost their lives during illegal mining at China Koti South Mines
under Jharia Police Station area of this district. Police sources said that in the incident three people were dead while few others are
still feared trapped inside. 

Jharia CO Kedarnath Singh has confirmed the news and said that rescue work was on at the spot. The deceased have been identified as Nageshwar Mahto, Manoj Kumar and Chanda Kumari. All of them were residents of Liloripathar of Jharia, police said adding that the bodies have been sent for post-mortem to RIMS. 

Post the incident the locals along with police and CISF personnel were involved in rescue and relief operations. Local labour leaders have blamed the administration for the incident. On the other hand, Jharia DSP Pranod Kumar Kesri said that it was the responsibility of the BCCL and the security agency to look after the security at the mine and said that it was a matter of probe as to how illegal minning was happening in the area.
