Ranchi: President Ramnath Kovind said that in the success of daughters of the country one can see a glimpse of bright future of the nation.
Speaking at the first convocation ceremony of the Central University of Jharkhand here he said that daughters are an effective medium to show education empowerment as the girls are performing better in the area of higher education.
He said that in the convocation of many universities he has seen that most gold medals have been won by the girls and even in the last 6 years out of 96 students 64 students are girls who have won gold medals.
The governor said that compared to the sons the daughters have to face many challenges. Earlier the governor gave gold medals to 10 winners while in the function degree was distributed among 596 pass out students which included 493 of PG and 103 of UG.
The President said that the tribals give the best teaching as to how balance can be maintained with nature and asked the students to contribute in the development of the tribals and ask them to draw inspiration from institutions like Ramkrishna Mission and Vikas Bharti.
Adding further he said that main goal of education is to make good human being. He said for the last two years he had been planning to visit Bishunpur of Gumla district at Vikas Bharti but last year due to rains he could not go.
He said that he wanted to witness the works being done for the tribals and how they are contributing to the development process and hoped that he might be able to go on Saturday. He said that with knowledge only one gets intellect and skills however one major goal of education was also to inculcate moral values and being a good human being is also important.
The President also stressed on the need to become involved in social service for self-growth. He said that all should try to give back to the society and suggested that a university can adopt villages and work for their progress.
