
Ranchi: Chief Electoral Officer of the state Vinay Kumar Choubey has directed all the district electoral officers to ensure that photo enabled voter slips reach the homes of the voters on the seats which are going into the polls in the first phase on November 30.
In an interaction with all the DC cum DEOs of the state through video conferencing that booth level officers have to distribute these voter slips and asked to ensure that all BLOs should submit their daily progress reports and on that basis the sector magistrate will undertake surprise visits and all DEOs will review the progress at the booth level.
He said that all these steps are being taken to encourage the voters and maximise the voter percentage. He said that for the benefit of the voters of all the districts helpline number 1950 has been started and operators involved with the helpline will be also calling up people to know as to whether they have received the voter slips or not and said that if any voter does not get the slip than steps should be taken to ensure that the voter slip is given.
The CEO instructed all he district electoral officers to take action over complaints of violation of model code of conduct as per the directions of the election commission and also asked them to take effective action to prevent the use of illegal liquor, money etc to ensure free and transparent polls.
Mr Choubey also instructed the officials to distribute voter slips in Braille script for the blind candidates along with dummy ballot paper and slip.
He also inquired into the security arrangements being made at the sensitive booths and also collected information related depositing of arms, execution of warrants etc. Additional Chief Electoral Officers Kripanand Jha and Sailesh Chourasia were also present on the occasion.
