Meeting of state level nodal officers with CEO office held

Ranchi: Additional Chief Electoral Officer Kripanand Jha chaired a meeting of the state-level nodal officials of the various department and agencies which are involved in the election process.

The meeting was attended by IG Jharkhand Police Vipul Shukla, Excise Commissioner Bhor Singh Yadav and officials from the income tax, railway, narcotics, banking, airport, etc. During the meeting, information was collected regarding the works so far which have been done by the department and also they were directed to establish coordination wherever needed.

The nodal officer of the excise department said that an eye was being maintained in liquor production and sale in the state and action is also being taken against people involved in the illegal liquor trade and pointed that on the bordering areas of the state to check smuggling of liquor from neighboring states check posts have been developed.

To stop illegal activities, and flow of cash and other band substance SST and flying squads have been formed in which apart from the state police central paramilitary forces are also involved.

The income tax department said that it has appointed officials in every district to check the flow of hard cash who are working in coordination with the district administration and air intelligence units have been also formed at the airport to check the flow of illegal cash and goods.

It was decided that banks will be sharing the information related to suspicious transactions with the district administration and income tax department.

The nodal officer of the railways said that they gave made all preparations for transportation of the polling parties and the security forces and for this coordination with different zonal offices have been also made.

The commercial tax department said that its officers were keeping an eye on sale and purchase of such items which might be used to influence the voters.
