Notification for second phase of polls on 20 seats on Monday

Ranchi: With the issue of notification the process of filing of nominations will commence on 20 seats of the state where voting will be held in the second phase on December 7.

The last date of filing of nomination for these seats in November 18 while the scrutiny of the nomination papers will be held on November 19. Candidates can withdraw their names till November 21.

These two seats are spread across seven districts including 6 seats from East Singhbhum, 2 seats from Saraikela-Kharsawan, 5 from West Singhbhum, 2 from Ranchi, 2 from Khunti, 1 from Gumla and 2 from Simdega.

All administrative preparations for the second phase of nominations have been completed and it has been made mandatory for the candidates to follow the rules of the election commission and for violation as per the rules action will be taken.

As per the norms of the ECI the candidate should have its name in voter list of any assembly area and he will be eligible to purchase the nomination list. However, the proposers should be from the assembly area from where the candidate wants to contest and for the recognized political party one proper is enough while for non-recognized parties 10 proposers are mandatory.

Any candidate will be able to file their nomination in four sets and the security money has been kept at Rs 10,000 while the security money for the SC/ST candidates was Rs 5,000 which can be deposited before the electoral officer or in the RBI. Money will not be taken through cheque or bank draft.

At the time of filing of nomination papers only five people including the candidate will be allowed in the room of the electoral officer and only three vehicles will be allowed within the radius of 100 meter of the office of the electoral officer
