Soon Tata Steel to provide power in Jamshedpur and Saraikela

Ranchi: Soon Tata Steel Limited would be supplying power to the consumers in Jamshedpur and Saraikela.

A proposal in this regard as per which Tata Steel Ltd and Jamshedpur Utility Services Company will be providing power to the consumers of JBNL was approved in the 41st meeting of the board of directors of Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Ltd and it has been subsequently to Jharkhand State Power Corporation Regulatory Commission and once the approval is received TSL will supply power in Jamshedpur and Jusco in Saraikela.

More than one power distributing licence company is involved in power distribution in the state and despite having parallel licences compared to Jharkhand Bijli Vitran Nigam Ltd less consumers are being supplied power. 

Both the companies are providing power to high-end consumers due to which there was a difference in rate due to which universal service obligation is not being involved.
