Ranchi: A coal trader was shot dead a coal trader near Purnadih project of NK Area under Piparwar Police Station area of this district.
The deceased has been identified as Sabir Ansari (35). Eyewitnesses said that Sabir alongwith his associate had reached the Kanta Ghar when 6 bike-borne miscreants reached on the spot and opened fire upon them.
After sustaining a bullet shot he started running away but later fell on the ground which gave the criminals to open indiscriminate firing on him.
The locals immediately rushed the man to the Dakra central hospital from where he was referred to Ranchi. However, Ansari succumbed to his injuries. Police was probing the incident as to whether it was an act of Maoist or work of some criminal gang.
