
Ranchi: People might be facing tough times for four consecutive days as far as their dealings with the banks are considered as the banks are likely to remain shut from September 26 to 29.
Protesting against the bank mergers the four trade unions of the banks have called for a two-day nationwide strike on September 26 and 27 while September 28 happens to be the 4th Saturday of the month and September 29 is a public holiday on account of Sunday.
As the banks will remain shut for these four days people might have to face cash crunch as ATMs also go dry during such long periods. The four bank unions All India Bank Officers Association Indian National Bank Officers Congress National Organisation of Bank Officers Union and All India Bank Officers Confederation has given the call for the strike but these organizations have been called for dialogue by IBA on September 17.
The bank officers Association have called the strike demanding rollback of bank mergers, pay revision as per charter, five days of working, define national pension scheme, service charge for the customers should be reduced.
