Special camps on Sep 15 and Sep 22 at polling booths: Ranchi DC

Ranchi: Special camp will be organised on all  2771 polling booths of the Ranchi district on September 15 and 22 during which booth level officers should be present.

Addressing a press conference here DC Rai Mahimpet Rey said that work for draft Electoral roll publication is on. He said that adding of new voters is priority and all eligible voters who have crossed 18 years as on January 1, 2 0 1 9 their names will be included in the list. He said that BLOs will be present in the booths with all the forms and people and make applications to remove or include their names. He said that applications which will be received would be disposed off by October 12 , 2019.

He said that on September 15 and 22 monitoring of all the booths will be done and action will be taken against BLOs who were absent on September 8 and action has been ordered against 50 BLOs and said that BLOs will be visiting the homes. The DC said that there was a need to improve the sex ratio in the voter list.

He said that male-female gender ratio was 972 while that in the district was just 950 and assembly wise the ratio is also very less. H e said that the most poor ratio was in Kanke and Ranchi which needed to be improved. He said that the last Electoral list will be published on October 12 and said that any eligible person can reach in these camps and get their names registered in the list.
