Two day Bamboo Artisans Conclave in Dumka on September 18 and 19

Ranchi: On the occasion of the International Bamboo Day in Dumka on September 18 and 19 two day bamboo artisans conclave will be held in Dumka which would be first of its kind mega event in the land of Santhal Pargana.

Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sunil Kumar Barnwal through video conferencing chaired a review meeting to assess the progress in organising the event. He said that the event will be attended by Union and State cabinet ministers, artisans from Jharkhand and abroad, investors, corporate houses and visitors, therefore, it should be organised on a grand scale. He also directed to make the city neat and clean in the wake of the function.

Dr Barnwal said that the event was being organised to give a platform to the artists and also provide them with jobs. He said that a total of 70 stalls will be put up at the venue where not only exhibition of bamboo goods will be held but they will be also sold and this will help to give a new identity to the bamboo products.

Industries Secretary K Ravi Kumar said that the event will help Jharkhand make a New name for itself and asked the  Cs to ensure that bamboo artisans from all the districts participate in the event, therefore, they should make a list and make arrangements for them.

He said that the main goal of this two-day mega event is to create direct and indirect employment to the local youths. He said that the government will also be providing training to the local youths through e-marketplace, e-commerce and digital marketing. He said that in the event one lakh card for the artisans moreover bankers and microfinance companies will also be participating in the event.

The Secretary said that before October 15 in all the district industry gathering has to be done and all the DCs should as per their convenience decide the date and inform the department. He said that the purpose of the event was to identify small Industries and develop them and said that the best products of the districts will be provided with the market and other facilities by the government.

He asked the officials to take help of the local trade association and business organisation to organise the function as even the Chief Minister is more focused on this and he himself will be participating in some of the programme while the others will be attended by cabinet ministers MPs and MLAs.

He said that in the event apart from food stall arrangements for entertainment and other programmes should be done so that visitors can indulge in buying and have a good time and also directed to include the local cuisine and artists.
