
Ranchi: Chief Secretary DK Tiwari has expressed his concern over the pending cases in the courts and unnecessary time being wasted on them and has directed to develop a mechanism so that such cases can be timely disposed off.
Reviewing the status of the pending cases in the courts and orders being implemented at the project building here he said that all the departments should find out the number of cases which are pending against them in the courts of the state and their position and accordingly make efforts to dispose of them. He said that if needed appeal should be filed on cases should be sorted out through Lok Adalat on September 14.
Mr Tiwari also directed the secretaries to exchange information with the committee of the high court and take action accordingly. He said that similar types of cases should be clubbed into one and disposed off and order of the court in similar cases should be also implemented accordingly.
Mr Tiwari also asked the officials to come out with ways so that most cases do not go to courts. In the meeting it was agreed that the fee of the retainer lawyers will be increased to Rs 20,000 from Rs 10,000 and directed that lawyers should be appointed as per the number of cases and their numbers should not be more than three in any department and asked the legal department to come out with a circular in this regard.
