
Ranchi: Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sunil Kumar Barnwal has asked the officials of IPRD to use social media platforms to share information, connect with the people and ensure the reach of the government policies and programs in every home.
Addressing a workshop organised at the project building here on social media he said that it with proper strategy and planning use of social media platforms like Facebook Twitter Instagram and WhatsApp should be used and said that if any person wants to know any information regarding any scheme of the state government on social media then also immediate reply should be given.
He said that social media has become an integral part of the daily life of the common people and has also become the easiest and effective medium for government officials to work. He said that while on one hand through social media people are becoming aware regarding the happenings across the world on the other hand information is being exchanged rapidly specially in the area of public relations as where apart from the traditional means with the use of new media it has become easy to create awareness regarding the government schemes.
In his message to the district, public relation officers react them to make better use of social media after completing the training here so that proper where this on a large scale regarding the various schemes policies and programs of the state government can be done.
Addressing the workshop Payal Kamat Twitter India apprise the officials regarding the different dimensions of Twitter and how it can be used. She also detailed as to how the post and its content can be used for the future and how the post can reach to a large number of the people.
She said that across the world people in 40 languages are using Twitter which is a two-way communication and which on your comments people have an opportunity to give their opinion. She also informed as to how Twitter accounts can be used and can be kept safe and secure.
Participating in the workshop Ashish Pandey and Siddharth of Facebook sais that Facebook users are maximum in the world as 238 crore people are on Facebook while on Instagram there are 100 crore people and WhatsApp is used by 150 crore people. They said that as for as Jharkhand is concerned here 1 crore people are on Facebook and said that 70 percent people through their smartphones are using the Facebook and other social media platforms.
They said that while on Facebook apart from content there is use of videos and photos while on the other hand on Instagram priority is given to photos and videos apart from that WhatsApp is also used for sharing of personal information among the people however as far as the functioning of the state government is concerned all these three platforms can be effectively used to ensure that the policies and programmes of the state government easily reach to the people.
Those who were also present in the workshop included IPRD Director Ram Lakhan Prasad Gupta all Deputy directors additional secretary assistant director and district public relation officers.
