Dhanbad: Former Dhanbad MP and Marxist thinker AK Roy was cremated at the banks of Damodar river at Mohalbani Ghat with full state honors. Tarun Roy, younger brother of the late leader lit his pyre. AK Roy who was elected as an MP on three occasions from Dhanbad died at the Central Hospital of BCCL on Sunday aged 85 grappling with various old age-related ailments.
His final journey was taken out in the truck decked with flowers which started from MCC party office located in Purana Bazaar from where it reached Shaheed Gurudas Chatterjee Maidan in Nunudih were thousands of people lined up to pay their final respect to their ‘Rai Da’ after which it was taken to Mohalbani for cremation.
