Birsa Munda Death Anniversary 2026: Governor, Chief Minister, and public representatives paid tribute.

Tribute ceremonies were held across Jharkhand on Tuesday to mark the death anniversary of Dharti Aba Bhagwan Birsa Munda. People in various districts of the state paid tribute, remembering his struggle, sacrifice, and contributions to the upliftment of the tribal community. Governor Santosh Gangwar and Chief Minister Hemant Soren visited the Birsa Munda Samadhi Sthal in Kokar, Ranchi, to pay their heartfelt tributes.

The Governor and Chief Minister paid floral tributes to the statue of Bhagwan Birsa Munda and remembered his ideals. They remarked that Birsa Munda is a source of inspiration not only for Jharkhand but for the entire country. His struggles gave a new direction to the tribal community and awakened the people against British rule.

In Dhanbad, the death anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda was also observed with reverence and respect. Jharkhand Assembly Whip and Dhanbad MLA Raj Sinha visited Birsa Chowk at Bank More and offered a wreath at his statue. On this occasion, he said that Bhagwan Birsa Munda dedicated his entire life to the rights, self-respect, and protection of water, forests, and land of the tribal community.

Raj Sinha said that Birsa Munda's unparalleled struggle, sacrifice, patriotism, and social consciousness continue to inspire the countrymen. His ideals inspire the need to extend justice and respect to the last person in society. He also called upon the youth to adopt Bhagwan Birsa Munda's ideals and work for the welfare of society.

A special program was also organized in Guwa, West Singhbhum district, on the death anniversary of Bhagwan Birsa Munda. Various social, political, and administrative representatives paid tribute by garlanding his statue in Ramnagar. A large number of local people also attended the program and remembered the contributions of Dharti Aba.

Following this, Guwa SAIL Chief General Manager Chandrabhushan Kumar and General Manager Praveen Kumar Singh paid homage to Bhagwan Birsa Munda by offering flowers at his statue located at Birsa Chowk in Guwa. Speakers stated that the life of Bhagwan Birsa Munda symbolizes struggle, self-respect, and social justice. The holistic development of society and the nation is possible only by following the path shown by him.

Bhagwan Birsa Munda is one of the great heroes of the Indian freedom struggle, who raised his voice against British rule to protect the rights of the tribal community. The events organized on his death anniversary once again brought his ideas and struggles to life among the people.
