Khunti: A person has been arrested from Saiko Police Station area of this district with opium weighing about 7.8 kilograms worth Rs 8 lakh. Briefing the press Khunti SP Alok said that he had received a secret tip-off that a person from Ubru village with opium was planning to travel to Ranchi via Khunti.
Following the information, a team under SDPO Ashish Kumar Mahli conducted raids and arrested the culprit. So far the Khunti Police has seized 110 kilograms of opium this year.
