Education is the only tool for curing superstitions says Chief Minister

Ranchi: A ‘Child Journalist Program’ was organized with the joint effort of UNICEF and Nav Bharat Jagriti Kendra Ranchi at the Chief Minister’s residential office during which Chief Minister Hemant Soren met the child journalists of UNICEF and interacted with them about the issues of child rights and children and encouraged them. This programme was organized on the occasion of ‘Children’s Day’. 10 child journalists participated in this program and shared their dreams, aspirations and challenges before the Chief Minister. These child journalists apprised the Chief Minister about the problems and challenges faced by the children during the global corona pandemic.

The child journalists apprised the Chief Minister about all these things, especially the impact of the pandemic on his education and mental health. They shared their views with the Chief Minister regarding the challenges in taking online education due to the nonavailability of smartphones, PCs etc with poor, needy children during the pandemic. Child journalists urged the Chief Minister to open schools for all classes while ensuring safety standards so that all children can get quality education traditionally and study in a blissful school environment. Addressing the child the Chief Minister said that all of them are setting an example in the society by spreading positive messages regarding education, health, nutrition and child rights.

The Chief Minister said that his government is constantly monitoring the problems and concerns of the children. He said that the state government is working for how to compensate for the education, especially among the children of Jharkhand, which has been disrupted due to the pandemic. The Chief Minister said that the State Government was taking all necessary measures to ensure
quality education in a safe and positive environment for all the children in the schools. He said that along with Keeping an eye on the pandemic status for the operation of schools, the state government is trying to start teaching in schools in a phased manner.

The Chief Minister expressed confidence that in the near future, the primary schools would also start again. He said that in order to improve the quality of education in schools, continuous efforts are being made to fill the gap between teacher and student ratio. He said that on the occasion of State Foundation Day, 680 teachers have been given appointment letters, which is a strong initiative in this direction. In Jharkhand state, all the children should get equal opportunities and their development is the priority of the state government.

The Chief Minister further said that everything has two sides. During the pandemic, children had to take online classes from their homes. If online classes are good, they also have negative consequences as now many important tasks of our life are now happening online, this includes education. Hemant Soren said that people definitely know how much education of children has been affected during the global pandemic, as well as children have to go through family problems and many other mental stresses.

The Chief Minister said that there have been many such pandemics in the country and the world, but corona infection is such an epidemic that has affected every section, rich, poor farmers and laborers. This pandemic has disturbed the life cycle of man itself he said adding that the problem is still not over but the challenge is standing in front and his is the reason why now there is a need to find a way to handle life. He said that the state government is continuously working to normalize the situation and was moving forward accordingly.

The Chief Minister told the child journalists present that superstitious traditions are also inherent in the society. Many superstitious traditions including child marriage, witch-bisine, exorcist and virtuous are still in society and the only cure for such superstitious traditions is education and as more and more people get educated, these problems will automatically go away. The Chief Minister expressed happiness by interacting with the child journalists. The Chief Minister said that keeping in view the experiences and things shared them the State Government will make every effort to remove the shortcomings. On the occasion, all the child journalists presented self-prepared greeting cards to the Chief Minister. The Chief Minister honoured all the child journalists by presenting them with pens and extended his best wishes to them.
