Tigress found dead inside Betla National Park

Latehar: Body of a Tigress was found inside the Betla National Park after which entry of visitors inside the park was closed today till further orders.

The officials of the forest department and Betla National Park are investigating the reasons behind the death however it is being suspected that she might have sustained serious wounds in a fight with a wild buffalo due to which she has died.

Post the recovery of the body the entire area was sealed and senior officials and animal doctors rushed for the spot. Project Director of Palamu Tiger Reserve YK Das said that at road number two of the Betla National Park the body of the Tigress was spotted by forest guards who were returning after patrolling.

Das said that investigation from all possible angles is being done however the post-mortem report will only reveal the correct reasons for the death. He said that the Tigress was aged around 14 years.
