Dumka: Chief Minister Hemant Soren has called on the people to imbibe the ideals of the great martyrs in their lives as then they will able to feel the energy which is needed for the country state and society.
Speaking as the Chief Guest during a cultural programme organised at the indoor stadium on the eve of the Republic Day he said that India was a land of the unity of diversity where people belonging to different caste creeds and communities live together and work shoulder to shoulder.
He exuded hope that in future also the unity will remain and India will emerge as a big power in the country and will also set an example of unity in the world.
He said that history has it that Jharkhand is the land of the brave who have not hesitated to make their supreme sacrifice and the people are proud of the fact that they are resident of this brave land who did not even think twice to lay down their lives for the sake of the country, society and culture.
He said that men like Birsa Munda, Sidho- Kanhu, Chand-Bhairav fought against the British Rule and made the supreme sacrifice. He said that his government was committed to make a Jharkhand as per the dreams of the martyrs.
He said that after the formation of the state government this was the first republic day celebrations and like previous years this will be made a memorable occasion. He said that there are some dates in India which will remain relevant as long as the world would exist and in this August 15 and January 26 find their special mention.
Dumka DC Rajeshwari B said that affection of the Chief Minister towards books is an indication that knowledge is a tool on whose basis the state and the country can be taken forward.
Those present on the occasion included Commissioner Santhal Pargana, DIG, DC and SP Dumka and large number of students and common people.
