Chief Secretary asks officials to make elaborate arrangements for upcoming festivals

Ranchi (By our correspondent): Jharkhand Chief Secretary Sudhir Tripathi directed all the DCs and the SPs of the state to make
elaborate preparations in wake of upcoming festivities which included the festivals of Diwali, Chhath, Milad- Ul-Nabi and Guru Parv.

In a meeting with the senior officials and the DCs and the SPs through video conferencing Mr. Triptahi said that while the festive month
of November people are getting ready for celebrations similarly, on the other hand, the administration too should make its self-prepared for the occasion.

He asked the administration to remain alert and awake during the festival season and asked them to make separate preparations keeping in mind the nature of different festivals. Congratulating the officials for better management put up during Durga Puja he said that such should be the arrangements that the administration should be found alert everywhere.

He directed that since in the festival a large number of people from outside visit their hometowns, therefore, an eye on their security and safety should also be maintained. He asked the DCs to submit a list of the people from their respective areas who have done exemplary work on the occasion of the state formation day.

Mr. Tripathi said that in the peak of the festivities a huge rush is witnessed in the markets, therefore, CCTVs installed at crowded places should be made functional. Home Secretary SKG Rahate said that after Kali Puja special preparations be made for immersion of idols and at no cost, the procession should divert from its route.

In wake of the Chhath festival, he said that in the ghats and the routes leading to the rivers more women personnel should be deployed. He also asked the officials to ensure that as per the directions of the supreme court crackers are busted between 8-10 pm and also ensure that after 10 pm the loud speakers should not operate.

DGP D K Pandey said that watch towers should be put in place so that the crowd can be maintained and vigil can be also maintained. He also asked to make sure that loudspeakers are not used to play objectionable songs and keeping in mind the incidents of past the control room should be made fully functional and said that duty of the personnel involved in law and order should be put in shifts and asked to maintain special vigil at railway stations and bus stands.
