Dumka: Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren said that he was extremely touched by the love which has been showered upon him by the people of Dumka.
Addressing the people at the Raj Bhawan here he extended them the greeting for the new year. He said that he could see new hopes and aspirations among the people and asked them to have some patience and assured that he will work as per the aspirations of the people and fulfill the responsibilities which have been bestowed upon him by the masses.
He said that in the next one or two days the government will be become fully functional and promised that on his next visit he will much good news. He said that his purpose was to move forward taking people from all walks of life together and even the legislative will work with the same view.
He said that he had come to touch the soil of his workplace and with full preparations he will march forward. The Chief Minister said that it was unfortunate that a priest had died at Basukinath Dham temple and it was not possible to bring back the dead but help can be extended to their kin. He said that the brother of the deceased priest is being given a job and a compensation of Rs 2 lakh.
He prayed to the almighty to rest his soul in peace. Hemant Soren arrived on his two day visit to Dumka for the first time after taking over the reins of the state.
To welcome the Chief Minister thousands of people had gathered at the Dumka airport. Such was the enthusiasm of the people that they either gifted flowers or books to Mr Soren. He was extremely touched by the affection and love showered by the people and accepted their recognition with humbleness.
From the airport the Chief Minister drove straight to the Pokhra chowk where he garlanded the statue of Sidho-Kanhu, he later offered floral tributes at the statue of Swami Vivekanand.
Hemant than reached the DC chowk where he garlanded the statue of Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar and Bhagwan Birsa Munda.
