Jamshedpur: Accusing the Congress and the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha of being primarily responsible for the political instability in Jharkhand Prime Minister Narendra Modi said that while on one hand, he served as the Chief Minister of Gujarat for 13 consecutive years on the other hand in 15 years Jharkhand saw 10 Chief Ministers.
“Before the weather could change in the state the Chief Minister of Jharkhand was changed primarily due to the personal and vested interests of the Congress and the JMM,” he said while addressing his second rally of the day at Gopal Maidan of Bistupur here adding that it was the BJP which stopped this system and gave one Chief Minister for five years. He said that it was due to this stability effective action was taken against the naxals and a business-friendly environment was created in the state.
He said that to maintain stability it is important that BJP is voted back into power. Mr Modi said that the opportunistic alliance of the JMM and the Congress do not want a stable government in Jharkhand as their business will be impacted. He said that for the development of Jharkhand it was important that once again the double engine government is formed in the state.
Pointing the development works which have taken in the state thanks to the double engine government he said that works have been done to improve the road-rail and air connectivity in the state and pointed that in the last five years the state has got 700 kilometers of new National Highways.
He said that when the Congress and its allies were in power Jharkhand got only Rs 2000 crore for improving the rail infrastructure while under BJP the funds were increased more than five times to Rs 10,000 crore and 700 kilometers of new railway lines were opened.
The Prime Minister said that the state has also highly benefited from Pradhan Mantri Urja Ganga Yojana and Ujjwala Yojana. He said that the state government has also tried to improve infrastructure, create a better environment for investment and industrialisation and was trying to attract investors so that the youths can get jobs near their homes.
Mr Modi said that apart from steel Jharkhand has created lots of job opportunities in the silk and textiles sector and in the five years has provided 1.75 lakh jobs in these two sectors. He said that India was the third-largest producer of steel which was being used from roads to satellites and under the Make in India initiative, it was being used to build metro trains, railway tracks, Vande Bharat Express Train and in future due to the demand in infrastructure the steel sector is poised to grow further.
The Prime Minister said that BJP also remained for such sections who were only lured with slogans and pointed the various schemes which have been started for the welfare of the workers of the unorganized sector.
Adding further he said it is only the BJP that can take sensitive and difficult decisions and claimed that while Congress and JMM create problems the BJP ends up solving them and said that old problems of Jharkhand can be only solved by his party.
Raking up the issue of removal of article 370 from Jammu and Kashmir he said that after the country got independence everywhere there was the talk of article 370 which was written as temporary in the constitution. However, the Congress and its allies were making it permanent he said adding that People have sent Modi to take hard decisions for the country.”I do not know Raajneeti but only follow Deshniti,” Mr Modi said adding that decades-old problem of Article 370 was solved by his government.
The Prime Minister said that the Ram Mandir issue was only solved when BJP came into power and accused the Congress of creating unnecessary obstruction as the issue was used for its vote bank politics but such a big issue was solved peacefully and the entire country and people from all communities accepted the decision peacefully as ‘this is the strength of Ramji’.
Touching the issue of Triple Talaq he said it used to destroy the lives of the women hailing from the Muslim community and maintained that whether anyone will say or not even the men from the community were sad due to this. He said that due to Triple Talaq Fathers marrying their daughters, brothers sending their sisters to their in-law's place were worried that their daughters might be sent back home with use of triple talaq and despite the Congress and its allies creating problem the issue was resolved.
The Prime Minister also pointed that it was the BJP which had given constitutional status to the OBC commission, increased the number of medical colleges in Jharkhand to 7 and also gave the first AIIMS to Jharkhand on which Rs 1000 crore is being spent however all these could happen as a double engine government was in power.
Mr Modi said that when the people turn up at the booths for casting their votes on December 7 and 12 they should think that these elections for not for electing the MLA, Chief Minister or the cabinet minister but was an important one to decide the future of 19 year old Jharkhand.
