DGP pays tribute to martyr policemen vows to avenge their death

Latehar: Tributes were paid to the four martyr policemen which included an Assistant Sub Inspector of Police and three jawans of the home guard who were killed in a maoist ambush over police patrolling vehicle at Lukaiya village under Chandwa Police Station area of this district.

In a function held at the New Police Line here DGP Kamal Nayan Choubey led the police officials in paying tributes to ASI Sukra Munda hailing from Gumla, Jamuna Prasad (Palamu) and Sambhu Prasad and Sikandar Singh ( both Latehar) who were martyred in the maoist attack.

Speaking to press the DGP said that Latehar has been always sensitive towards naxalism and said that the group and its leader who have executed the incident have been identified and no matter how much time it takes they would be caught. “No matter where they hide they would be dealt with,” he said.

He said that in wake of the elections lots of precautions is being taken and peaceful elections will be conducted in the state. He said that war with naxalism was on in the state which was in its final stages.

He said that the maoists sometimes make their presence felt and they are being handled in all possible ways. Among others, ADG ML Meena, IG Operations Anmol V Homkar, IG Operations Saket Kumar Singh, CRPF IG Sanjay Latkar and others also paid their tributes.

Post the tributes the mortal remains of the martyrs were sent to their native villages. Yesterday night in the maoist ambush at Lukaiya villages four policemen including an ASI and three jawans of home-guards were martyred.
