Bokaro: An angry mob beat a couple of men who were caught allegedly while they were trying to steal items from a bike and car service center near Gobindpur colony under Bokaro Thermal Police Station area of this district in which one of them died while another one was admitted at the Bokaro General Hospital.
The deceased has been identified as Mubarak Ansari (45) and the injured included Akhtar Ansari (40). Both of them are residents of Nai Basti of BTPS Police Station area.
Police said that the locals claimed that duo were trying to steal battery and electric motor from a bike and car service center when the owner work up and raised an alarm.
Soon the duo were surrounded and caught by the locals who tied them with a pole and beat them up.
Somehow police got to know about the incident and rescued them and took them to the hospital where Mubarak Ansari was declared dead by the doctors.
Post the incident police took the service center owner identified as Hemlal Mahto and four others into custody for questioning who were later forwarded to jail.
As a precautionary measure police have been deployed at Gobindpur colony and nearby areas.
