After 17 years Pichdi coal mines open once again

Bokaro: After 17 years the Pichdi Coal Mines once again opened for the mining activities in Bermo.

Speaking during the function which was organized on the occasion Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that the opening of the mine will be creating jobs for the people.

He said that the day was a historic one for Bermo as 15 schemes of CCL which will be executed in the areas of education, health and education worth Rs 150 crore and another 103 schemes of the state government having involvement of Rs 208 crore are being either inaugurated or their foundation was being laid.

He said that despite being blessed by Mother nature and having the largest coal reserve which can light up the world 30 lakh people in the state remained in darkness for 67 years and fell trap of poverty.

He said that the previous governments could not provide power to the people and his government in just five years has ensured light in 30 lakh homes and closed mines have been opened which will be helpful in creating new jobs for the people.

The Chief Minister said that displacement is the problem of the past as no one paid attention to the poor.

The present government made clear to the Union Coals Minister that before displacement rehabilitation should be given priority and they should be given land pattas so that development can reach to them.

Mr Das said that it was due to the wrong policies that the state was only selling coal and if power would have been sold than the picture would have been different.

He said that after 2014 the state government paid attention to power and inked an agreement with NTPC for 4000mw of power and said that soon Jharkhand will be a power provider state and added that the state government was also according to importance to solar energy.
