Zonal commander of CPI (Maoists) carrying reward of Rs 10 lakh surrenders before Jharkhand Police

Gumla: Zonal commander of the Koyal-Sankh zone of Bihar Regional Committee of the CPI (Maoists) who was carrying a reward of Rs 10 lakh on his head surrendered before the senior police and administrative officers here.

Zonal commander Bhushan Yadav alias Chandrabushan Yadav alias Bhushan Ji surrendered before DIG South Chottanagpur AV Homkar, SP Gumla Anjani Kumar Jha and DC Sashi Ranjan. The Bihar Regional Committee of the Maoists comes under BJSAC (Bihar Jharkhand Special Area Committee).

Nearly two dozen cases are registered against the ultra in Gumla, Latehar and Lohardaga districts. Police said that a total of 17 cases are registered against Yadav in separate police station areas of Gumla district, 5 cases in Latehar district and a couple of cases in Lohardaga district.

As part of the surrender and rehabilitation policy of the state government Yadav was given a cheque of Rs 10 lakh which the state government had declared on him and apart from that other provisions of the policy including land and money for house construction, an arrangement of education of his children till graduation etc will also be provided to him.

After surrender Yadav said that the Maoists have diverted from their ideology and were juts busy in loot. He alleged that in the organization women and children were being exploited and local villagers were being harassed.

Moreover, he claimed that the Maoists were under fear due to constant operations by the security forces and in future many more ultras will join the mainstream of life.

Speaking on the occasion the DIG said with surrender of Bhushan Yadav the grip of Maoists in Budha Pahad area will considerably weaken and since he was a local therefore Maoists have lost a top rank cadre and number of local supporters will also decrease and said that his surrender will also encourage the others to lay down their weapons and join the mainstream of life.
