Raghubar attacks JMM, says those who kept Santhal Pargana away from development looted lands of tribals

Sahebganj: Chief Minister Raghubar Das once again launched an attack on the JMM and accused the party of keeping the region of Santhal Pargana away from development and indulging in buying of tribal land through unlawful means.

Addressing a Jan Chaupal organised in Mayurjuti village of Barhet Vidhan Sabha area from where leader of opposition Hemant Soren is an MLA he said that among the people lies were spread that the government will acquire their land but in the 5 years of this government there has been not a single instance of land being forcibly taken away.

He said that such rumours were on spread to keep the people of Santhal Pargana away from development. He said people needed to identify such forces who do not want development of their area. Mr Das said these people who spread such fake rumours violated the CNT and SPT Acts and brought land worth Rs 500 crore in Pakur, Pakuria, Dhanbad and Ranchi.

He said that the main purpose of the Pradhanmantri Kissan Samman Nidhi Yojana and Mukhyamantri Krishi Aashirwad Yojana was to provide resources to the farmers for which they are being provided with economic aid however even for this scheme rumours were spread that money was being given in lieu off the land of the people and said that such people want to keep the farmers backward.

He said that Rs 6,000 under PM Kissan Yojana and Rs 5000 per acres under Krishi Aashirwad Yojana was to provide help to the farmers and had nothing to do with the land of the farmers and assured that till this government was in power the land of the people can not be taken away.

Mr Das said that in order to save Santhal Pargana there was a need to remove the middlemen who are like termites in the development process. He asked the people to give information if anyone demands money to get them benefit of any government scheme as the person will be sent to jail.

To a query during the programme he said that in present time along with degree there was a need to have skills as in the entire world its demand has increased due to which the state government was spending Rs 700 crore on this. Mr Das said that in Santhal Pargana also Skill Development Centre will be opened so that youth can get skilled and they can get jobs.

A woman Shanti Devi requested for a home under PMAY over which Mr Das said a target has been set that no one is homeless in the country by 2022 and even in Jharkhand under PMAY homes are being provided to the beneficiaries. He said that the central and the state  government are also serious to provide LPG, power and pure drinking water to the people and assured her that she too will be getting the house.

The Chief Minister said that prior to 2014 there were only 43,000 salhi mandals in the state which in the last five years has crossed more than 2 lakh. He said that through Sakhi Mandals the women are becoming self reliant and taking this forward the government gave the responsibility of stiching the school uniforms to Sakhi Mandals and now even the ready to eat meals will be handed over to the women to supply nutritious food to the children at Anganwadi centers.

He said that malnutrition is a big problem in the state which needs to be removed at any cost and said that women will run the scheme than schemes worth Rs 500 crore will reach to the women of the state. The Chief Minister said that for the first time after Independence in six districts of Santhal Pargana and in East Singhbhum district which has large Santhal Population it was decided that name of government offices and schools was written in Santhali language. Those present on the occasion included DIG Santhal Pargana Rajkumar Lakra, DC Rajeev Ranjan and others.
