Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that Jharkhand was a land of opportunities and called upon the investors to invest in every sector in the state and create employment opportunities for the people as the state boasts of one of most attractive industrial policies in the country.
Speaking at the BPM/BPO Summit organised at the Judicial Academy here he said that after the formation of the government 18 different policies were framed in different sectors and said that as the government realized that there was a need to create a job opportunities therefore in the year 2016 itself its started the BPM/BPO policy and said that inspired by the policy of the state government many renowned industrial houses have expressed their desire to invest in the state and most of the investment was coming into textiles, food processing, auto component and agriculture areas.
He said that it was due to the honest and sincere efforts of Team Jharkhand that the state has achieved success and it was due to its good intentions and policies that image of the state has improved and investment was taking place in every sector. He said that in power also massive investment was taking place as three mega power plants with joint investment of Rs 45,000 crore will be coming up in the state while closed units are once again being started and said that so far 107 such sick units have been made working which has created job opportunities.
He said that in the industries in the last 4.5 years 72,000 direct employment has been made. He said that the state government has accorded focus on Agriculture, Industries and Information Technology and said that due to more use of machines in industries the number of workers has reduced but that has been compensated by providing employment in IT sector.
Mr Das said that development is directly related to employment and pointed out that unemployment is a big issue for the country. He said that the state government was working to give skill in every hand and pointed that Jharkhand ranked 4th in Ease of Doing Business Index and even the state was among the top in the area of labour reforms and said that after new labour laws came into effect women will also be able to work in night shifts.
