Not a single case of appointment on compassionate grounds should remain pending: Barnwal

Ranchi: Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sunil Kumar Barnwal has directed that there should not be a single case pending related to the appointment on compassionate grounds. Chairing the weekly review of the complaints registered at Jansamwad Kendra here he said committee formed over this issue should ensure the same by holding meetings every week in this regard. A total of 19 complaints were reviewed by him during the program.

One Vidyapati Singh in charge of Bano Police Station had died in an encounter with the Maoists on April 8, 2017. After which his widow Suman Kumari had filed an application for providing job on compassionate grounds but no action was taken. On this Nodal Officer told that the applicant has applied for third-grade job, due to which it was not executed.

The Principal Secretary instructed to take necessary action in this regard. Balram Prajapati along with 60 others had worked in electricity office, Jainamore through Displaced Education and Welfare Society in 2014- 15, but they have not been paid for the work till now. On this Mr Barnwal said that if the workers are not paid then legal action will be taken against the agency. Complaint regarding electrification and power connection came from Chatra and Pakur districts on which he said that the government was committed to providing electricity to every household and instructed the officials concerned to resolve the matter by coordinating with the villagers.

Drinking water supply has been interrupted for last one year in Kharkhari village of Dhanbad. It was told from the department that drinking water supply was interrupted due to the dysfunctional motor. On this, the Principal Secretary instructed to ensure water supply in every situation.

On the complaint of illegal possession of the area marked for parking at the East Jail Road in Ranchi, he instructed to promptly execute the matter and suspend officers involved in this and also conduct departmental action against them. Govind Kumar Hansda of Bokaro had complained about bribery being demanded in lieu of passport verification by the police. On this Mr Barnwal said that investigation of the case should be done by the other DSP and after that suspend and conduct departmental action against the officer involved.

Muchiram Manjhi of Bokaro said in his complaint that the firing range of JAP-4 has been made on his raiyat land. However, neither administrative approval has been received nor compensation was paid for this. On this, the Principal Secretary instructed the nodal officer to send the proposal to the Home Department and ensure the execution of the case. Other than these, complaints related to assistance under Chief Minister Critical Illness, Old age pension and pending honorarium were also reviewed.
