Ranchi - (By our Correspondent): Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that the soul of the nation resides in the villages and when they have developed then only the state and the nation will be prosperous. Addressing the people after the launch of a slew of measures by the rural development department at the project building here he said that it was a priority for the state government that Jharkhand ranks among the developed states by 2022.
He said that to ensure that all-round development of the villages of the state takes places, the central and the state governments are running many programmes for the welfare of the poor villages, farmers and the youth and added that his government was committed to double the income of the farmers of the state. He said that under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi social and economic development has taken place of the villages poor and the farmers. He said migration was a big challenge before the state and to tackle it the youth are being trained in skill development so that they can be linked with jobs and self-employment and added that the government wanted to create small industries in the villages.
The Chief Minister said that even the farmers are being trained in modern farming and by adopting drip irrigation technique farmers can increase their income. He said that the state government has accorded priority to rural development and agriculture and asked the farmers to focus on organic farming and assured them that the government will be providing them with markets.
