Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that the development of eastern India is essential for the overall development of the country. Keeping this in view, Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emphasized on the development and regular monitoring of Eastern India. Work is also being done in a planned manner in Jharkhand. The Chief Minister said this in ‘Purvodaya’ program organized by media institution in Hotel BNR Chanakya.
The Chief Minister said that there is a possibility for the development of cultural tourism in eastern and northeastern states of India. There is also a possibility of development Ayurveda. Without the development of this region, India's development is incomplete. With the construction of the Four-lane Ganga Bridge in Sahibganj, Jharkhand will be connected to Northeastern states connecting Myanmar and a new era of development of eastern India will start.
The Chief Minister said that after 14 years of political instability, we made a corruption-free, transparent and stable government with a majority in Jharkhand. Jharkhand's growth rate is second in the country. Jharkhand is being awarded for developmental works.
The Chief Minister said that soon Jharkhand will be made free from naxal. We are working in this direction. So far three districts of the state have become free from naxal through public support and police administration. Five more districts will soon join the list. Development work is being carried out in Naxal affected areas.
The Chief Minister said that despite having huge reserves of coal, there was a problem of electricity in Jharkhand. The reason for this is lack of infrastructure. We have 38 grids, compared to 118 grids. The present government has started the work on making 80 grid substations. All grids will be ready in the next one year. With the strengthening of infrastructure, people will get 24 hours uninterrupted power.
The Chief Minister said that contaminated drinking water in Jharkhand mining areas has been a big problem. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given the opportunity to spend 30 percent of the royalties received under the District mining fund on that area. Our government is spending 100% of the money for providing pure drinking water through the pipeline in those areas.
The Chief Minister said that after the formation of a stable government in the state, there has been a rapid pace of developmental work. New dimensions of development can be seen on all the sectors. For women empowerment, 1lakh 51 thousand Women self-help group have been associated and 17 lakh women have been given employment. SHG can get loans up to 4 lakhs from the bank. Women are being trained with skill development for different types of employment. The state government is also providing smartphones to the members of SHG. The state government is doing the registry of properties up to Rs 50 lakh in Rs 1 for women. In the last 1 year, more than one lakh women have registered their names and have become the owner of the property. Tejaswini scheme has also been started to empower girls in the state. Girls are also being given skill development training.
The Chief Minister said that the Swachh Bharat Mission is a success. The state has become 99% ODF. By December 2018, Jharkhand will be 100 percent ODF. He said that several public welfare schemes including Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Prime Minister Ujjwala Yojna, Ayushman Bharat Yojana, have been launched in the state with commitment.
The Chief Minister said that employment in the state under the Momentum Jharkhand has been created. After formation of the government, the local policy has been implemented in the state, the youth of Jharkhand got 100% place in the government job. 95% of the local youth in Jharkhand have been given employment in about one lakh government Jobs. On the occasion of Swami Vivekanand Jayanti, more than 27000 youths have been given employment. Generating employment in every sector is the priority of the government.
