JP Nadda asks Jharkhand BJP to Break membership record and get 65 plus seats

Ranchi: BJP’s national working president JP Nadda shared his mantra with the Jharkhand BJP to win the assembly elections expected to be held in November-December and asked the senior leaders of the party to break the membership record in the state after which they will easily get more than 65 seats in the assembly.

Chairing the meeting of the core committee at the state guest house here he asked the partymen to reach to every village and every home as part of the membership drive with a fixed target and make more than 25 lakh new members which will help the party to get even more votes which it had received in the Lok Sabha polls. Mr Nadda said that target to win 65 plus seats in the Jharkhand Assembly was not a mere slogan for the party but was its aim for which it will go out with the full force to achieve the target.

He said that during the Lok Sabha elections the party had won 12 out of the 14 Lok Sabha seats in Jharkhand and had taken a lead across 67 assembly seats and the same has to be replicated during the assembly elections. “We need to maintain the lead which the party had got in the Lok Sabha elections assembly seat wise and if that happens the party will easily achieve the target,” he said in the core committee meeting which was attended by Chief Minister Raghubar Das, state BJP president Laxman Giluwa, national general secretary Arub Singh, co-incharge for party affairs in state Ramvichar Netam, Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda and others. In his first visit to the state after being appointed the working president of the party Mr Nadda also chalked out the strategy for the \assembly elections with the party leaders.

On the first day of his visit he chaired the meeting of the core committee and also held meetings with state office bearers, district unit heads, district in-charges and membership drive in-charges. Later in the evening he also addressed a meeting of the intellectuals at a banquet hall in the city while his day concluded with a meeting with the MPs and MLAs of the party which was held at the residence of the Chief Minister here. He has asked the MPs and MLAs to be more active in the organizational works of the party.

Addressing a press conference at the party office after the end of the meeting of office bearers, district unit heads etc national general secretary of the party Arun Singh said that office bearers of the party will be participating in the membership drive for seven days. He said that all of them will be assigned five booths each. To a query, he said that the acting president has expressed his satisfaction over the works of the organization in the state.
