Villagers have right over the funds of Finance Commission: CM

Ranchi: Chief Minister Raghubar Das said that with the funds of the 14th Finance Commission work of installing street light, water tank and construction of paver block road in villages should be completed by September 30. Reviewing the works of Rural Development Department in Project Building he said that regular meeting of Tribal Village Development Committee and Village Development Committee should be done.

He said that the Panchayati Raj Officer should hold the Divisional meeting and make the committee chairman aware of water management with the amount of Rs 5 lakh, construction of trench, check dam for water harvesting should be done It was informed in the meeting that about four thousand crores rupees are being spent in this year to build and strengthen rural road and pools.

Under the Chief Minister Gram Setu Scheme, Rs 600 crores will be spent. Aradhna Patnaik, Secretary, Rural Work said 9591 km of new roads were constructed from the state endowment scheme in the regime of the present government, whereas only 13562 km roads could be constructed since the formation of the state till 2014. Similarly, under Prime Minister Gram Sadak Scheme 13274 km of new roads were constructed. Also, 5100 habitations were ensured. Under the Chief Minister Gram Setu scheme, 558 bridges were constructed during the last four and a half years.

The Chief Minister directed that construction works under Prime Minister Housing and Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Housing Scheme should be completed till October 10, 2019. In the meeting, Avinash Kumar, Secretary, Rural Development Department, informed that 86 per cent of construction work has been completed. He said that there was a target of constructing 5 lakh 28 thousand 791 houses in the state out of which 4 lakh 53 thousand 770 houses are completed.

The Chief Minister also instructed that the allocation of houses under Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Housing Scheme should be done only in the names of women as the government is working for women empowerment. Water, electricity, toilets and LPG gas cylinders will also be provided in all the houses made under Prime Minister Housing and Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Housing Scheme, he said. It was informed in the meeting that under Dr Bhimrao Ambedkar Housing, construction of 7378 houses are completed rest 11622 will be completed by 10 October 2019. While reviewing the MNREGA scheme, the Chief Minister said that MNREGA is a very important scheme for all-round development of the village, the poor and the farmers.

Jharkhand has been in the first place in payment of wages in the whole country. Jharkhand is also the number one state in terms of percentage of expenditure on agriculture, agriculture-based works and number of individual schemes. He said that good work has also been done by MNREGA in the field Bora Dam, Dobha, Irrigation coup etc. The farmers of the state are getting the benefit of the Birsa Munda Horticulture Scheme. The animal shade is also being provided to MGNREGA farmers.
