Ranchi: Apart from state capital of Ranchi many other districts of the state on late Monday afternoon witnessed rain and thunderstorms. Due to the rainfall which was coupled with lightning and thundering power went out in many areas. However the showers in the last 48 hours have brought great relief to the people from the scorching heat.
In many areas of Ranchi due to rainfall water logging was reported while the wind speed was recorded at a maximum speed of 40 per kilometers. The afternoon sky immediately gave way to dense clouds due to which the vehicle riders were forced to put on their headlights. Districts such as Latehar, Chatra, Hazaribagh and Ramgarh have also reported rain and thunderstorms which has reduced the temperature in these areas giving much needed respite to the people.
According to the local MET department in the next 2-3 days the weather is likely to remain that way and rainfall is also expected to happen.
