Hot weather makes Ranchiities sweat, more than 400 borewells go dry

Ranchi: For the next 48 hours there would be no respite from the extreme heat wave conditions to the people of Ranchi as the temperature is expected to remain around 42 Degree Celsius.

According to the local weather department for the next two days, the heat wave will continue in the city for the next two days. The weatherman said that from the western side warm air is coming to the region whose impact is also being seen in Jharkhand.

Meanwhile, in the majority areas including Harmu Vidyanagar Madhukam Ratu Road and Piska Mode the borewells have gone dry. Delay in the rains has further aggravated the situation. In Vidyanagar and Harmu HYDT have gone dry. The mini Mini borewells had been dug by the RMC but when they are also getting dry the corporation has been forced to supply water in these areas using water tankers. It has become a common sight of people arguing with each other over water.

Despite having a full load capacity of power people had to go through long hours of power cuts. In the evening and in night long power cuts has become a common sight.

In areas such as Ratu Road Khadgada Sukhdeo Nagar and many areas of the state capital, there is also the huge problem of overloading. In Harmu and Vidynagar areas in the month of Ramzan people have to struggle every day for their water needs making them lament the poor functioning of the municipal corporation.
