Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das today assured the house that the government will seriously look into the issue of increasing the scholarship being provided to the students belonging to the SC/ST and OBC community in the state.
He said that the government was serious over the issue of the betterment of the weaker sections of the society and wanted to ensure that good quality education is provided to the children who come from the community. Mr Das said that the suggestions of the MLAs would be taken seriously by the government into consideration.
Earlier a question in this regard was raised by JMM MLA from Silli Seema Mahto who sought to know whether the scholarship is provided to the students studying in University Polytechnic in BIT Mesra Ranchi has been reduced to Rs 25,000 per year which was Rs 50,000 earlier.
Replying over the issue Social Welfare Minister said that earlier there was no rules and regulations for providing the scholarships to the students studying in the various polytechnic institutions but now the regulations have been framed.
