Government is committed for all round development of Divyangjan - Joba Manjhi

Ranchi: Women and Child Development Minister Joba Manjhi said that the state government is committed to the all-around development of the disabled. She said that many welfare schemes are being run for the development and upliftment of the Divyang.

The State Government has also included Divyangjans under the Sarvajan Pension Yojana, who are being given an amount of Rs 1000 per month. She said that it is the endeavor of the State Government that in the entire State Divyangjan should be identified by setting up a camp so that they too can get the benefit of the welfare schemes being run by the government for them.

Addressing a program organized on the occasion of World Disability Day Joba Manjhi said that many difficulties and problems have to be faced in the work of development and upliftment but the officers of the department are quite capable and all together are working to give them a better future by executing those problems.

She said that the women, child development and social security department of the state government is working with full dedication in connecting them with the mainstream of the society along with all-around development and giving them a better future and are moving forward in the direction of giving them a better future.

State Disability Commissioner and Social Welfare Director Chhavi Ranjan said that the development of the state, society and the country cannot be imagined without the all-around development of the disabled. We need to take concrete steps for their all-around development today. We all have to come forward to empower them. Equal facilities have to be made available he said adding that we have to focus on social upliftment, safety and education, social equality, strengthening economic independence of the disabled and have to work for their betterment.

He said that a start has been made but there is a need to move faster. He said that funds are being provided to all Divyangjan who are above five years in the state under Swami Vivekananda Nishakta Swavalamban Protsahan Yojana. The state government is also giving scholarships every year for the education of Divyangjan. Funds are also made available to the organizations under grant so that they can spend for the development of the disabled.

A deaf-mute school has been started in Ranchi, Dumka. Government Blind School is also being run in Ranchi. Rs 1000 per month is being provided to them under Indira Gandhi National Disability Pension Scheme, in which about 26,526 people have been benefited.

A unique Disability Card is being issued for the identification of Divyangjan. So far, efforts are being made for their betterment by issuing unique cards to 4,76,097 Divyangjans. On this occasion, Minister Joba Manjhi distributed water bottles, lunch boxes, and pencil boxes among the children of the Government Blind and Deaf School.

Along with this, certificates were distributed among the children who participated in the essay, painting, and music competition organized in the government blind and deaf schools. Aids and equipment were given to blind and deaf-mute children. The children of the State Blind and Deaf School were present along with the officials of the department in the programme.
