Khunti’s Anti Human Trafficking Unit gets big success in Delhi, 12 girls and a boy rescued

Ranchi: Due to the meaningful efforts of Chief Minister Hemant Soren, the victims of human trafficking are being freed and rehabilitated in their homes. In this connection 12 girls of Jharkhand’s Khunti district, victims of human trafficking and a male child have been freed in Delhi. Nachiketa, Nodal Officer, Integrated Rehabilitation Resource Center, New Delhi informed that on the instructions of Khunti SP Aman Kumar and Khunti Deputy Commissioner Shashi Ranjan, the District Social Welfare Department, Child Protection Department and Anti Human Trafficking Unit have been monitoring in human trafficking at various places in Delhi. 12 girls and one boy have been freed.

The team of the unit has freed these children by raiding various places of Delhi for about 15 days. In this sequence, many illegally operated placement agencies have also been found, who illegally bring small girls to Delhi and sell them. Action has to be taken on these. Ramjanul Haque of Anti Human Trafficking, Mithlesh Thakur, Ajay Kumar Sharma, Usha Devi and Phulmani Bodra provided remuneration to not only the children rescued but also those 7 girls who were above 18 years.

They also made sure that the girls would remain under their supervision. Of these free girls, one girl is only 14 years old. She is also 3 months pregnant at this age. It was informed by Shivaji Prasad of District Child Protection that all these children will be produced in CWC Khunti. Along with this, they will also be given the benefit of sponsorship scheme by connecting them to various schemes run by Khunti district. A child sent by a human trafficker is abused both physically and mentally.

Cases are also registered in Delhi regarding physical abuse of many girls. All the districts have been given strict instructions by the Director of Women and Child Development Department Chhavi Ranjan, that in whichever district the child is rescued in Delhi, the District Social Welfare Officer and Child Protection Officer of the district will rehabilitate them back to their district. Taking initiative by Basanti Bara and District Child Protection Officer Shivaji Prasad, 12 girls of their district were rescued in Delhi and were scouted from Delhi.

All the girls are coming back from Garib Rath Express Train to Ranchi. These girls will be linked to various schemes run by the Social Welfare Department so that they do not become victims of human trafficking again. The Government of Jharkhand and the Department of Women and Child Development are very sensitive on human trafficking and believe in prompt action. This is the reason why Integrated Rehabilitation Resource Center is being run in Delhi, whose nodal officer Mrs. Nachiketa is working to free the victims of human trafficking of Jharkhand and rehabilitate them back to their district of Jharkhand.

It is pertinent to mention that as per the instructions of the Local Commissioner Mastram Meena, the children, girls and women who have been victims of human trafficking, misplaced or trapped by someone’s misguided, have been continuously visiting various children’s homes of Delhi by the Integrated Rehabilitation-cum-Resource Centre, New Delhi.

Action is being taken to send it back. In this regard, after establishing constant coordination with Delhi Police, Child Welfare Committee, New Delhi and Child Welfare Committee of border states, victims of human trafficking are being identified and freed. After that work is being done to send the liberated people safely to their home district, where they are being rehabilitated. The rescued girls in Delhi were brought through brokers.
