Ranchi: In order to manage the huge rush in trains during Diwali and Chhath Puja, Indian Railways has decided to run festive special trains. 179 festive special trains will be run till Chhath.
The Ranchi Division of South Eastern Railway has also sent a proposal to the Railways to run special trains in view of the increasing number of passengers during this period. Ranchi Railway Division’s DRM Pradeep Gupta said that a proposal has been sent to the headquarters to run a separate Puja special train for Jaynagar, Bhagalpur, Gorakhpur and Patna.
It is expected that soon the green signal will be given to run special trains for these places. With this, passengers going home during festivals will be able to get confirmed tickets. DRM Pradeep Gupta said that the number of travelers going to Uttar Pradesh and Bihar increases to celebrate Diwali and Chhath Mahaparv.
In Chhath festival, people want to celebrate the festival with family in their homes. In view of this, Railways has decided to run special trains. Along with this, additional RPF personnel will be deployed at major stations by the Railways for the safety of the passengers in the increasing crowd at the stations during the festive season.
