Junior Doctors of RIMS stage demonstrations over salaries

Ranchi: Junior doctors of Ranchi RIMS gheraoed the Director of the Institute on Wednesday over their various demands including pending salaries.

There is a demand of the doctors that they should be given a salary of two months which they have not received till now. Also, the incentive amount for the corona period should be given. The doctors have also demanded to change the dean. The junior doctors reached outside the director’s office at around 1 o’clock on Wednesday afternoon and Slogans were raised against the RIMS director.

Dr Vikas, President of the Junior Doctors Association said that so far the salary of the last months has not been received which is causing a lot of trouble. Along with this, many times the management was asked to increase the hostel facilities of Ranchi RIMS, but till date the facilities have not been increased.

Even the students are constantly troubled by the problem of water and electricity. Moreover, senior doctors have not got their salary for one month and junior doctors for two months. After which now all the doctors are angry and agitating. On the other hand, the OT staff of Ranchi RIMS itself is not getting a salary for the last five months.

Senior and junior doctors have told the management about their pain many times but no concrete solution has been found. Management says that due to the non-receipt of money from the state government, there is a problem but no information is being given about when this problem will end.
