Length of Kanta Toli flyover changed again, DPR made for the third time in eight years

Ranchi: The length of the much-awaited Kanta Toli flyover in the cabinet has been amended once again and length has also been increased in the new revision.  

Now it will be 2224 meters long, which will be about 850 meters longer than the old DPR.  Its approval has been given in the cabinet meeting held on Tuesday.

According to the new DPR, it will now be built from Shanti Nagar in Kokar to Yogda Satsang Math via Bahu Bazar.  It will now cost Rs 224.94 crore.  Earlier it was to be built from Shanti Nagar in Kokar to a little ahead of Khadgarha bus stand.  In the new DPR, a target has been set to complete it within 24 months.

Consultancy Agency NL Malvia Pvt Ltd had made a presentation of the feasibility report before the Secretary, Urban Development Housing Department, Vinay Kumar Choubey.   The Secretary expressed had satisfaction on this.  Along with this, instructions were given to make a new DPR soon and start construction.

As per the presentation, the Kanta toli flyover will be of four lane, in which the width of the road including railing and divider will be 16.6 meters.  The total length will be 2224 meters.  Provision has also been made for the development of the junction of Kanta Toli Chowk for smooth traffic.  At the same time, the road will descend on both sides from the flyover near the Khadgarha bus stand, so that the people going to the bus stand can be facilitated.

For the first time, DPR was prepared for the flyover in 2012 during which Arjun Munda was the Chief Minister. In 2015 when Raghubar Das came into power again the DPR was made and this time it is the third occasion the DPR has been prepared for the flyover.
