Ranchi: Jharkhand Chief Minister Raghubar Das inaugurated the Rashtriya Khadi and Saras Mela at the Morhabadi grounds of the state capital during which he said that India would be developed when the rural economy is strengthened. He said that khadi and gram udyog will play an important role in this, therefore, it was being encouraged by the state government.
Mr Das also lauded the works being done by the state khadi board which was linking people with jobs and self-employment. He said that migration from the villages would be stopped if small units are set up in rural areas and people would become self-employed. Mr Das said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was working to make India as per the dreams of Mahatma Gandhi who had himself advocated for the empowerment of the villages for attaining Swaraj.
He said that the Prime Minister was working to increase the income of the villages and the farmers and has helped Khadi get international recognition. He said when Khadi is encouraged it becomes prosperity in the homes of the poor and similarly gave the slogan of sweet revolution for encouraging honey cultivation. He said that farmers of Jharkhand are being also included with this as it would help to increase their income and organic farming is being also encouraged in the state. Mr Das said that there was a huge demand for organic products in the world and asked the farmers to indulge more in organic farming.
The Chief Minister said that the state government is also encouraging dairy as the state is forced to import milk and egg worth crores of rupee from outside. He said that to increase their production it was encouraging the youth and women groups to come forward and was giving them financial aid moreover the production would be also purchased by the state government which would create jobs and self-employment. The Chief Minister said that in the state 80 lakh school uniforms are needed for which the women of the villages are being trained who would be provided jobs and ultimately the money will keep circulating in the rural economy.
