Khadi Mela to commence from Dec 20, Union Min Giriraj Singh to be present

Ranchi: The Rashtriya Khadi and Saras Mela organised by the Jharkhand State Khadi Board which would be held from December 20 to January 6 at the Morhabadi grounds of the state capital would be inaugurated by Chief Minister Raghubar Das while Union Minister Giriraj Singh would be special guest at the function.

Addressing a press conference at the venue Khadi Board Chairman Sanjay Seth said that the entire mela would be spread across an area of six lakh square feet and would consist of 14 hangars out of which 12 have been named after places and movements associated with Mahatma Gandhi including Sabarmati, Dandi, Wardha, Porbandar, Champaran, Yervada, Sarvoday, Swadeshi, Swaraj, Ahimsa, Satyagrah and Satya.

He said that more than 1100 stalls would be put up at venue in which artisans from across the length and breadth of the country would be showcasing their products. He said that different government stalls would also be put up at the venue by the means of which people would be informed about the policies and programmes of the government.
